US company Teladoc Health has opened a digital hub in health technologies in Barcelona from which will employ 100 people and will contribute to turning the city into a leading innovation hub in virtual medicine and digital health in Europe.
The new center already employs a team of 50 developers and plans to expand the workforce up to 100 experts in the coming months.
According to Carlos Nueno, President at Teladoc, “Barcelona has the talent and the opportunity to lead the healthcare technology sector in Europe. From our company, we have turned the city into a reference point for technological innovation in virtual medicine”.
From Barcelona, Teladoc Health will enhance the local synergies that can be generated within the telemedicine sector, attract more local and international digital talent and host many technological professionals.
This new opening strengthens Teladoc’s commitment to the city of Barcelona.
Teladoc Health acquired a Barcelona-based life sciences firm in 2018 and decided to establish its international headquarters in the city. Currently, the company employs more than 1,300 people in Barcelona from which it runs its international operations.
