Bitpanda establishes in Barcelona its new Tech Hub and will hire 100 employees

Good news for the tech ecosystem in Barcelona. Austrian unicorn Bitpanda has chosen Barcelona to set up its Tech Hub thanks to its #entrepreneurial and innovative #ecosystem as well as its ability to attract and retain #talent.

Lukas Enzersdorfer-Konrad, Bitpanda’s global product manager has highlighted that the choice of Barcelona responds to the digital ecosystem that exists in the city, since it is the third destination in Europe preferred to launch a startup.

The company will manage from Barcelona a digital hub that will specialise in product and customer experience. The center will develop methods of digital payment and it will complement the center based in Krakow (Poland).

The project will require an investment of 10 million euros, which will be used mainly for the recruitment of 100 digital professionals by the end of 2022. Bitpanda will be looking to hire top tech talent in many roles, including Back-End, Front-End, Native Mobile Developers (both iOS and Android) and Quality Assurance Engineers. All these and more with the end goal of delivering the best product experience to Bitpanda’s customers.

Bitpanda is an investment platform specialized in cryptocurrencies and blockchain born in Vienna in 2014 and currently employs more than 600 people from more than 50 nationalities. The platform has at present 3 million users with offices in Vienna, Berlin, Krakow, London, Milan and Paris. In Madrid, where it also has a team of 10 people, the tasks are more oriented to regulatory aspects of the market and marketing.

The fintech company has also announced the opening of a remote blockchain research and development centre which will employ 30 people from across Europe. The centre’s goal is to create solutions that are ready to be integrated into the platform.
