This year, the 7th edition of CogX Festival features three Summits covering DeepTech, Industry Transformation and Global Leadership. The conference takes place from September 12 to 14 at the iconic new venue – The O2, North Greenwich, London.
Over the past six years, CogX has expanded to cover 20 topics ranging from health to climate tech to etichs while always maintaining a strong programme on AI. The event brings together experts, thought leaders and professionals from various industries to discuss the latest trends, developments, and applications in AI and related fields.
As an investment agency, our aim is to continuously grow the number of multinational companies as well as scaleups looking to invest in our city and transform Barcelona into a global reference. Attending to top-notch events such as CogX Festival is undoubtedly a crucial part in achieving our goal.

Our colleague Koen Vandecaveye, Head of Investment Promotion at Barcelona & Partners, will be speaking at the Semi Impact Summit 2023 to discuss about the EU’s semiconductor strategy and ecosystem-building practices, with a focus on Barcelona.
The region of Barcelona is incredibly research-intensive and with only 0.1% of the world’s population accounts for 1% of scientific production. There are 91 research institutes, and the city hosts the Barcelona SuperComputing Centre which is currently building the fastest high-performance computer in the EU as well as 2 experimental quantum computers. It also is the headquarters of the Quantum Spain project.
The city also hosts one of the top 3 photonics institutes in the world as well as ones on nanotechnology, high energy physics and a 3rd generation synchrotron, the largest scientific infrastructure in the country.
Companies such as Cisco and Intel have recognized these amazing assets and are setting up chips design centres in the city, their first in Europe, with support of the funding available.
