/ Global Development Hub​

A global pharmaceutical and biotechnology giant specializing in the development and production of medicines and vaccines to combat diseases in key areas such as oncology, cardiovascular, and respiratory health. Here in Barcelona, they are aiming to hire 2,000 staff to cover post-research development, digital innovation, commercial operations, and medical expertise. 

/ European Digital Hub​

Bigo is a global tech company, headquartered in Singapore, that owns Bigo Live, a social video streaming app that permits users to broadcast videos anytime and anywhere. The company had raised nearly $300m and was acquired by Chinese company YY.com for $2.13 billion.

They set up their first office in the European Union in Barcelona, where they will consolidate their existing EU-based staff. Initially, their focus is on strengthening operations in Spain and Portugal.

Delfos is a Brazilian AI-powered, real-time advanced analytics  platform helping improve the performance and reliability of renewable energy power plants, such as solar, wind, hydro and currently expanding into battery storage.

Delfos has established its new Global HQ in Barcelona.

HelloFresh is a global provider of fresh food at home via its subscription business model. Every week, users can choose recipes from an ever-changing weekly menu, and the company will deliver all of the seasonal, pre-measured, locally sourced ingredients needed to prepare them.

Veriff is an AI-driven global tech company that develops a visionary verification platform. Veriff’s technology makes sure that a person is who they claim to be. 

Veriff analyses thousands of technological and behavioural variables in seconds, verifying people from 190+ countries.

Accenture, as one of the most active companies supporting Barcelona & Partners, asked us to participate in a workshop for its Global Leadership Team in order to highlight Barcelona’s tech and digital scene. Barcelona & Partners contributed to confirm Accenture Barcelona as one of the reference centers for certain global strategic capacities: Innovation Services, Data & Analytics and Consulting focused on Supply Chain, Talent and CFO Agenda.

ZF Friedrichshafen is an automotive supplier that makes automatic and manual transmissions for commercial vehicles, cars, aircraft, and  marine vessels. In Barcelona, they opened a new Excellence Center.

Plarium
/ Southern European Studio

Plarium’s Studio, specializes in AAA console and PC game development, as well as SKUs mobile games and art production. With studios in multiple countries, Plarium is expanding its teams in Romania, Poland, Serbia, and Spain. 

The Barcelona studio focuses on game production, leveraging the region’s rich talent pool to drive innovation and excellence in gaming. This expansion supports Plarium’s commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences globally.

/ Cleantech hub

Dutch company Behold has established its newest Cleantech hub in Barcelona. Globally, Behold has supported over 600 entrepreneurs and mobilized more than 3,000 ecosystems.

In Barcelona, their new hub, with a team of 15 employees, serves as a center for climate innovation. It supports scale-ups with senior-level growth services, including market entry, business development, access to capital, market expansion, and financial advisory.

/ Iberia Subsidiary

This Indian pharmaceutical company, specializing in generics and active ingredients, has established its subsidiary, Reddy Pharma Iberia S.A., in Barcelona, where a team of 25 professionals offers a diverse portfolio of oncology, antiviral, anti-infective, antihypertensive, antithrombotic, and immunosuppressive drugs.

With 80 global members, the International Electric Marine Association (IEMA) moved its international headquarters from New York City to Barcelona in 2024. Here, it collaborates closely with the Port of Barcelona and the Ajuntament de Barcelona. The new Barcelona headquarters oversees IEMA’s global agenda, focusing on membership services, project management, events, and partnerships.

AllPriv is a cybersecurity startup with award-winning innovation and six international patents. Its AI and blockchain-powered Cyber-Brick device protects medical devices from cyberattacks and ensures critical data transmission even during network failures. Relocating from France, they have established their headquarters in Barcelona, hiring 50 employees

/ Global Excellence Hub

Berry Global is a company manufacturing engineered materials, serving industries like healthcare, industrial applications and personal care. They operate over 265 facilities globally, and their new Barcelona hub provides international customers and partners with access to circular products and top R&D experts, while also serving as a collaborative space for innovative product design. The hub has hired over 50 professionals.

Triton Group Partners, a UK investment firm that specialises in healthcare real estate, is expanding to Barcelona with a senior care facility, creating 50 new healthcare jobs.

As well as their procurement hub, Bayer has established an R&D hub in Barcelona. It hosts a team of 120 employees with highly scientific profiles, supporting all divisions of Bayer through clinical trials and other research initiatives.

/ Major Sporting Event

Barcelona & Partners led the candidacy to host the 37th edition of the America’s Cup. Barcelona & Partners, by uniting the forces of local administrations, Port de Barcelona and a consortium of private investors, tilted the balance in favour of Barcelona’s candidacy. The America’s Cup is the 3rd largest sporting event globally, as well as the oldest trophy in international sports arena.

Barcelona & Partners was instrumental in the development of a research and development (R&D) facility for the prototyping of chips with advanced materials, a step that is seen as crucial for the future of the EU semiconductor industry.
